| Project Summary: General Chemical Corp. Newark, NJ An infrared thermography test helps to find overheating in electrical bodies due to electrical problems. This test was performed at the General Chemical Facility and the results yielded some electrical problems that were immediately troubleshot and resolved. Most circuit breaker lugs are listed at 75° Celsius (167° Fahrenheit) maximum operating temperature, when electrical connections exceed this temperature, overheating can cause electrical malfunction, failure and even a life-safety hazard. Electric panels, switchgear and relay/contactor boxes will greatly benefit from being tested periodically in order to ensure proper conductivity and electrical properties. |
Project Summary: Assorted Projects, NJ Installed VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) for the brewing mixer at the High Point Brewery in Butler, NJ. Wired and programmed the drive to meet the mixer motor's specifications as well as the brewing systems' application. A VFD or drive is an electronic device that changes the frequency of the AC power going to a motor, thereby varying the motor speed. Benefits of VFD protected motor systems include: energy savings, electrical protection, systems control applications, improved motor efficiency, as well as a host of other features. A proper VFD installation can yield significant energy savings as well as prolong the motor's lifetime. For more information and questions concerning VFD technology feel free to contact one of our technical representatives. |
